STEM Rec Challenges
May 14 - 18

Science
Healthy Teeth. Scientific research has shown that healthy teeth have an important effect on our diet, health and overall sense of well-being. Healthy teeth cannot be taken for granted. Students will learn the names of each tooth, how to take care of them and how healthy diet choices keep them strong.

Wellness
Good Sportsmanship. Students will need their running shoes and kind hearts for this wellness challenge. They will be discussing good sportsmanship and what being a good friend means. They will then play a game of tag with a partner to practice their friendship skills.
Technology
Binary Code. How does the computer know what I want it to do? Students will be learning binary code then code and decode messages to each other.

Music
Drum Circle. Grab a drum and join us outside this week!  We’ll have fun keeping time and learning rhythms.

Art
Gustav Klimt. Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. His famous painting, “The Woman in Gold” was the subject of a movie with the same title. To honor this celebrated artist, students will be doing some doodling art. So come and get creative at Art this week.
